It was an absolute joy and pleasure to work side by side with my Lioness sisters today at our annual Garage Sale. We had a fun day, tried on some cool clothes, laughed a lot, and made some money for a good cause in the process.  A huge Thank You to Judith for providing a lovely venue and for keeping us well fed.  NOTE to Lily:  you make an awesome rhubarb cake !!!  And Ephrem for  his eternal patience with us

What a great tent we had at Car Free Day!

Lioness Lily thought of the idea of  offering a candy from our giant candy dish, using chopsticks to get one!  So much fun had ! 
Lioness  Lily also made up two raffle baskets, one for kids and one for Dad.

Lioness Susanne  and Joyce created the wonderful lantern project, pure enjoyment  for kids.

 Victoria Chinatown Care Center VCCA Tea 

The Victoria Chinatown Care Centre is located in the heart of Chinatown at Herald and Government Street. It was originally built by the Chinese community, in January 1982, replacing the old Chinese hospital. The Centre provides care to 31 residents who enjoy our renovated outdoor Garden that provides therapeutic activity. On behalf of the Victoria Chinatown Care Society Board and Tracy Ditty, Director of Care and staff of the Victoria Chinatown Care Centre, we are inviting you to our 3rd Annual Open House on Friday June 23 for Tea in the Garden from 3-5 pm. Details are attached.

Summer Activities : garage sale, Canada day Flag, Chinatown scrub up

GARAGE SALE

afternoon  , almost gone

The early bird pickers came out at the crack of dawn to scope out the 40 odd boxes of treasures at the 4th bi-annual Victoria Chinatown Lioness garage sale this year!  Set in Oak Bay as part of the GARAGELLENNIUM XVI, the sun was shining and people were ready buy ! It was another successful event with approximately $1000.00 going to local  charities.

 It was a true team effort with over 100 hours of labour put forth by 15 Lioness and 3 husbands.Goods that did not sell were donated to organizations in Victoria such as The Single Parent Resource Centre, WIN, Our Place, The Centennial Square Book Exchange Box, and the Salvation Army.

Lioness put a little  polish on our historic  Chinatown.

Special care was given to the Gate of Harmonious Interest which  displays plaques honoring two Veteran Lioness fathers , and recognizing Victoria Chinatown Lioness as significant  donors to the gate project in 1998.

Venus Sophia Tea Room, right in the heart of Chinatown,  was the perfect place to cool down, and enjoy fine food,  fragrant teas and  Lioness friends.
